Positive Impact On Our Life

My best friend in my old school helped me a lot when I was struggling with my work. She will explain it to me Over, and over, and over again until I understand the work. she was always there for me, every second weekend we will have a sleepover. Every morning she will come to my house and wait for me to get ready for school and then we would walk to school.. We were always together. We always told our secrets well most of them. I really miss her.. We have our own jokes that only us understand. We have our own Best Friend cod as well. Since we moved here we started talking less and less.. I will sometimes blame myself and tell myself it's my fault that we're not talking any more. I just wish I could explain one way how much I miss her. She has inspired me to be a very strong girl.

For Activity 3 we wrote something of someone who has had a positive impact on our life. I wrote one for my best friend Aislin Smith.

What I'm most proud of.

Ellenora: She is proud of standing up and talking to the class.

Eyaka: She and her group won a singing competition at school.

Nidi: She said a speech of her ancestors in front of more the 500 people including the priministors.

This week is the Teeser week, this is Activity 2. For this activity we interview three friends and asked them what their most proud of this year. and if they have achieved their goal.

The Water Project

This week is the Manaiakalani SLJ Teaser Week. The theme for this year is called "change makers". This theme will help us learn more about incredible people who have changed the world. For this activity I worked collaboratively together with Eyaka, Ellenora, Marieta and Mele. To complete this activity we were challenged to answer a few questions about the water project: what is the goal of the organisation, where do they work and what they have achieved. Before answering these questions, we watched a video to find out more about the water project. Something interesting that I found out was that approximately 1 billion people have no access to clean water.

Pros And Cons

PROS and CONS of being Garry Kasparov

PROS

You would have a lot of money.

You would be famous.

All the hard work and practice would be worth it.

CONS

Not enough time to spend with family and friends.

Have to practice all the time.

Miss out on fun things.

Equal Pay For Equal Work

I think that it is unfair that the men's rugby team gets paid more than the women’s rugby team because they both represent our country and play the same sport.Women and Men both have to train just as hard as each other and make the same commitments to the sport. I think they both should get paid equally.

Similes

We used similes to explain a person's senses and how they look like.

BFG Description.

The BFG is friendly,  kind, and caring. His happy face is cheerful and he laughs loudly.
His  big ears are floppy like an elephants. He is as tall as building.  His loud voice echos in the cave he lives in and his big feet have no shoes.  He catches dreams and shares them with others.
